Kestas, Who are You?
I finished my bachelor’s degree of Civil Engineering in Lithuania and moved with my lovely wife, Salla, to Lahti, Finland. There my life really began. I started to search deep within me why am I here? What is my purpose? I didn’t have work when I just came to Finland so I had lots of time for meditation and praying. Interestingly enough I got the answer to my questions.
Still small Voice from with in, told me “You are hear to serve me and my people.”
So that’s what I set myself to do. I went around, helping people in ways that I could possibly imagine at the time: I was washing windows, cleaning cars, cleaning homes, building things, chopping wood and any other possible way.
It was amazing! People called me an angel, a miracle, something that asended from heaven.
Even if what I was doing felt so great, I didn’t know how to recieve gifts from people so when people offered me money I refused to accept it. Now I know it was stupid, because grateful people want to give. That’s what prosperity is. Value for value exchange.
Even though I had a good heart I was immature and that got me into financial trouble. I wasn’t able to pay my rent, and we completely run out of money. I had to do something. Interestingly enough I was offered a course for career planning. All the things become clear and I knew that I will become a person who inspires others to dare to dream big and then take action on those dreams.
I set my course on becoming a coach. At first I had to get a job to provide for my family because before getting paid as a coach I knew I need to get good. I got a job as a carpenter/construction worker to get basic living covered. What was great about the job, was that I worked alone most of the time so I was able to listen countless of hours of teachings and audiobooks while I was working.
I also read books on self-development whenever I had free time. I just became obsessed in deweloping myself. eventually I ended up meeting one young man whose life was shattered. Let’s call him Mark. Mark’s girlfriend left him, he had wery few friends at the time and on top of that he was called to go to civilian service, life looked dark with no hope to him. I felt in my heart that I can help him to change his life.
I offered Mark my help and explained how can I help him. He said yes. After he came back from camp of civilian cervice we started to meet up every Saturday together. We agreed that we will discuss together the book I had just read, “21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership.”
I was coaching him every Saturday for over a year.
Fast forward his life got trasformed. He got a job and then a leadership position in it. He got a new girlfriend. Who, in my opinion, is 1,000 times better than the previous one. And now he is one happy guy.
This experience was so rewarding that in the end of 2017 I decided that I am ready to go pro so I joined John C Maxwell group to become a Certified Coach/Speaker/Trainer. That’s how I met Jukka and our jorney together began.
